Bhayangkara FC is regretting their 2023/2024 season, which ended with relegation from BRI Liga 1. Consequently, The Guardians will play in Liga 2 next season. However, Bhayangkara FC is eager to return to the top flight as soon as possible. The team has been preparing rigorously since early June 2024 and has strengthened their roster for Liga 2. They have signed notable players like Ilija Spasojevic from Bali United and Andy Setyo from Persikabo 1973, both of whom have international experience with the Indonesian national team.

Jaimerson Xavier will not be joining Bhayangkara FC in Liga 2. The ex-defender of Persija Jakarta and Persis Solo has opted to join PSBS Biak, which has been promoted to BRI Liga 1 2024/2025. Jaime had been with Bhayangkara FC during pre-season and even scored during a friendly match against PSIS Semarang. Nevertheless, he decided to commit to PSBS for the new season. The 34-year-old player has signed a short-term contract for the season. "Everything is finalized, and he will be joining the team shortly," said Yan Permenas Mandenas, President of PSBS, in a release. Jaime has arrived in Biak to join PSBS and is likely to be available for their match against PSM Makassar on August 16, 2024, at Stadion Kapten I Wayan Dipta, Gianyar. "We want to strengthen our defense, and hopefully, Jaime will complete and bolster our backline," added Yan Mandenas. Jaime becomes the eighth foreign player at PSBS following Alexsandro from Brazil, Abel Arganaraz from Argentina, Gabriel Esparza from Argentina, Williams Lugo from Colombia, Takuya Matsunaga from Japan, Jonata Machado from Brazil, and Julian Velazquez from Argentina. Jaime made his Liga 1 debut in 2018. In his first season, the veteran from Brazil and Portugal leagues led Macan Kemayoran to the championship.

Persija Jakarta reached the semifinals of the 2024 Presidential Cup, but their performance needs review after suffering three consecutive defeats. They conceded nine goals in the five matches played. Barito Putera was not involved in the 2024 Presidential Cup but participated in several friendly matches against high-level teams. One notable result was a 3-0 victory against Persebaya Surabaya.

Arema FC, the winners of the pre-season Presidential Cup, will encounter a tough test in their opening match of BRI Liga 1 2024/2025. Lucas Frigeri and his teammates will go up against Dewa United, a team touted as a potential BRI Liga 1 champion this season. Dewa United made significant moves in the transfer market, signing Alexis Messidoro from Persis Solo, as well as Taisei Marukawa and Jaja, who have impressive reputations in Liga 1.
